It is always an amazing experience to share our work with others but even more so when the audience are people working in the field and passionate about the subject – it sparks fruitful conversations.
Last week, we were invited to present at the City of Ottawa Lunch and Learn. We are very grateful to Nadine Jodoin, a specialist at the City of Ottawa’s Community and Social Services, for giving us this opportunity to share our work and make connections with the greater community. Members from various departments at the City of Ottawa, the Council on Aging, Walk Ottawa and other community groups attended the event. It went beyond a mere presentation and turned into an interactive and engaging discussion, in which we shared our works, exchanged ideas and resources. Our project may be small, but when we share it with others, it adds pieces to the bigger puzzle. Ideas echo, build up, and grow.
That’s the power of community engagement.
